The Lincoln Memorial baseball team trounced Cedarville 25-5 in the season opener on Friday at Lamar Hennon Field.

Trailing 4-0 after the Top of the 4
th, the host Railsplitters exploded for the 25 runs in only four innings, beginning with 7 runs in the 4
th before 4 in the 5
th, 6 in the 6
th, and 8 in the 7
th to start the year 1-0.

David Brian Ellison picked up the win after tossing innings 4-6 while giving up two runs and striking out three.
Colin Murphy gave up only one run and struck out five as his three-inning save allowed the bullpen to be fresh for Saturday's doubleheader, which begins at noon.

Collin Goda went for four hits and five RBI in seven at-bats as the star of the night offensively for the Railsplitters.
