WINGATE, N.C. – The Lincoln Memorial baseball team lost 5-1 at Wingate's Ron Christopher Field on Friday night in its first South Atlantic Conference road game of the year.
The Railsplitters (12-5, 1-3 SAC) were limited to just a single tally by the Bulldogs (14-7, 4-3 SAC) thanks to a dominant 8.0-inning, 18-strikeout effort by Mitch Farris, who improved to 6-0 with the winning decision.

Gavin Whitehurst RBI single in the 4
th inning that plated
Carson Boles. The Railsplitters never led, as the Bulldogs put 2 runs on the boards in the 3
rd inning followed by 1 in the 6
th and 2 in the 8
th.
The host Bulldogs got their 5 runs on 8 hits while committing no errors. The Railsplitters had 4 hits and no errors.

Patrick Queener (2-1) took the loss for Lincoln Memorial after allowing 3 runs on 6 hits in 6.0 innings of work while striking out 8 batters. Whitehurst went 2-for-4 with the RBI.
