HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial softball team dropped both ends of a doubleheader to No. 7 Alabama-Huntsville by 3-2 decisions on Tuesday afternoon at Dorothy Neely Field.
The Railsplitters (22-15) couldn't hold off the Chargers (23-4) who scored all 3 of their runs in the 4
th inning and later in both games. Alabama-Huntsville moved up to the 7
th position in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll released soon before the first game.
Game 1: Alabama-Huntsville 3, Lincoln Memorial 2
The Chargers scored single tallies in the 4
th, 5
th and 6
th innings to get the best of the Lady Railsplitters in the opener.
Katy Pozzuto hit an RBI single in the Bottom of the 4
th, and Lincoln Memorial added another run in the 7
th on a
Reese Vivrette RBI fielder's choice for the offense for the hosts.
Emma Frost threw a complete game, while Alabama-Huntsville's Megan Shurtz (7-1) also went the distance to earn the win.

An RBI double by
Madison Henry followed by an RBI single from
McKenzie Henry got the hosts out to a 2-0 lead following the 3
rd inning, but the Chargers crossed the plate twice in the 5
th and once in the 6
th to win.
The Chargers' Katie Bracken's record on the mound remained perfect at 7-0 as she tossed 7.0 innings of 2-run ball, while Lincoln Memorial's
Hayley Tamaro (8-7) also threw a complete game but was hit with the loss.
