DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Lincoln Memorial baseball team lost 6-2 on Wednesday evening at North Georgia's Bob Stein Stadium.
The Railsplitters (19-10) got on the board first with a
Collin Goda leadoff homerun, but the host Nighthawks (17-15) scored 2 in the 1
st, 1 in the 4
th and 3 in the 5
th to take the midweek matchup.
Goda also scored Lincoln Memorial's other run, crossing home plate on
Andrew Keene's RBI single in the 3
rd inning. The Railsplitters scored their 2 runs on 6 hits while committing 1 error. North Georgia had their 6 runs on 8 hits and had 1 miscue.
Reid Howard (1-1) picked up the win after 3.2 shutout innings in relief for the Nighthawks, while Lincoln Memorial starter
Matthew Delph (1-1) allowed 3 runs in 4.0 innings to suffer the loss.
The Railsplitters return to conference play with a 3-game series at Carson-Newman beginning on Friday at 3 p.m.
