HICKORY, N.C. – The Lincoln Memorial baseball team fell 7-4 at Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday evening.
The Railsplitters (21-15) couldn't get past the No. 15 Bears (33-9) in an added midweek game that didn't count as a South Atlantic Conference contest. Lenoir-Rhyne never trailed after scoring 2 runs in the Bottom of the 2
nd inning.
Lincoln Memorial's offensive showing was highlighted by a 2-run homerun by
Cameron Bowen in the 6
th inning to cut the deficit to 6-4.
Chris Hall and
Carson Boles knocked 3 hits each while
Collin Goda had a pair of hits.
Lenoir-Rhyne's starter Joey Cobb improved to 3-0 after 5.0 innings of 2-run ball while Lincoln Memorial's
Matthew Delph (0-3) allowed 6 runs in 4.0 innings to be hit with the loss. Spencer Floyd worked a scoreless 9
th for save No. 3 for him on the year.
The Railsplitters play a 3-game series at UVA Wise beginning Friday at 6 p.m.
