HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial baseball team trounced Kentucky State 32-2 in 7 innings on Tuesday evening at Lamar Hennon Field, tying for the 2
nd-most runs scored in a game in team history.
The Railsplitters (24-16) scored 13 runs in the 1
st innings and 10 in the 6
th against the Thorobreds (17-17) before the teams called it a day after the Top of the 7
th. Sixteen consecutive Railsplitters reached base after they had 2 outs in the 1
st.
Lincoln Memorial's offensive output was highlighted by 4 RBI each from
DJ Alexander, Jr.,
Collin Goda and
Tyler Boyd, while
Cameron Bowen,
Carson Boles,
Alex Kowalski,
Kasten Harvey and
Ryan Kurth all hit homeruns.
Christian Pencek got the win to improve to 3-0 on the year thanks to 4.0 innings of 1-run ball (0 earned) and 9 strikeouts. Jalen Anderson took the loss for the Thorobreds to fall to 0-6.
The Railsplitters host Emory & Henry at 6 p.m. on Friday to begin their final series of the regular season.
