HARROGATE, TENN.- C.B. must've been the initials called upon today as LMU's
Cameron Bowen and
Carson Boles would both play a large part in the Railsplitters' win over Emory & Henry Friday evening.Â
Â
Cameron Bowen would open up the scoring for the Splitters with a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning.
Carson Boles would follow up with a triple of his own the next at-bat.
Andrew Keene would then score Boles, putting the Railsplitters up 2-0.
Boles would add the second hit to his cycle campaign with a double in the bottom of the third inning. He would check off a home run from the list in the bottom of the seventh inning with a three-run shot over the left-center field wall to extend the lead to 5-0. In the following inning, Bowen and Boles would both single in consecutive at-bats, allowing Bowen to knock in two runs and for Boles to complete the cycle.Â
Good Railsplitter defense and a nice outing from starting pitcher
Patrick Queener would keep the Wasp offense relatively silent throughout the game. Emory & Henry would scrounge up a run in the top of the ninth, but the damage from LMU would be too much to overcome. With a final score of 7-1, the feat of hitting the cycle makes this game one to be remembered by sophomore
Carson Boles.
Lincoln Memorial is now 25-16 on the season and 11-11 in SAC play. The Railsplitters are scheduled to finish the regular season with a doubleheader against the Wasps tomorrow, Saturday, April 22nd, at Lamar Hennon Field in Harrogate. It will also be Senior Day for LMU, with the Senior Ceremony beginning at 12:30 PM and the first game beginning shortly after.Â
