LMU Women's Volleyball Falls to Mars Hill

HARROGATE, Tenn. – The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team attempted a comeback from two sets down, but ultimately fell to Mars Hill in four sets (25-22, 25-19, 14-25, 25-13). The Railsplitters dropped to 5-3 (0-2 South Atlantic Conference) with the loss, while the Lions improved to 5-1 (1-0 SAC) on the year.

Set 1: Mars Hill 25-17
The first set started out fairly even up until 7-7.  The Lions pulled out to a 4-point lead and never looked back. MHU extended the lead to 7 and won by 8 (25-17).   Kristen Moehring's six kills and Olivia Snyder's four digs led LMU.

Set 2: Mars Hill 25-17
Lincoln Memorial came out strong to begin the second set with a 7-4 lead.  MHU would fight back and take the lead at the halfway point, 15-12.  They would extend the lead to five and eventually pull away to win by eight (25-17).  Ketura Margaret led the Railsplitter offense with four kills and the defense had Megan Maier with four digs.

Set 3: Lincoln Memorial 25-22
LMU got out to a slow start down early at 5-10, but fought their way back and catch the Lions at 19-19 with a service ace by Megan Maier.  The Lady Railsplitters would pass and pull away from MHU for a 25-22 win.   Ketura Margaret put down six kills during the set with Kendall Wellen getting four. Olivia Snyder collected six digs with Kristen Moehring and Ketura Margaret getting four each.

Set 4: Mars Hill 25-23
The fourth set was fairly even until the halfway point when MHU pulled ahead by three.  LMU came back to take a one point lead 19-18.  The Lions responded with a three point run to take a 21-19 lead.  LMU tried to get the lead back but ran out of time, 25-23.  Kristen Moehring had seven kills on nine attacks (.778) and Moehring and Olivia Snyder combined for five digs.

Moehring posted 18 kills (.500 hitting percentage), seven digs and a block.
- Margaret had 17 kills and seven digs and three block assists.
