LMU Volleyball Split This Afternoon

Greenwood, SC – The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team split today at the Redderson Invitational this afternoon.  LMU dropped the first match to North Greenville (NGU), 3-0.  The Lady Railsplitters came back later that afternoon to beat Fayetteville State (FSU), 3-1.  This puts LMU at 6-4 for the season, thus far.
 
LMU vs. North Greenville
Set 1: North Greenville 25-20
The first set started with NGU coming out strong taking a quick 13-3 lead.  LMU fought back and passed the Crusaders 17-16.  NGU ran off the next six points for a 22-17 lead and finished for the win at 25-20. 

Set 2: North Greenville 25-20
The second set started out fairly even up to 9-9.  From there, NGU ran off five straight points to take a 14-9 lead, but LMU came back with four in a row to close within one.  LMU took the lead at 17-16 but NGU ran off four straight points to take a three-point lead.  LMU got as close as 21-20, but NGU pulled away to secure the set, 25-20.
 
Set 3: North Greenville 25-13
LMU got out to a slow start down early at down 9-2 in the third set. NGU pushed their lead to 17-6 and closed out the match, 25-13.

NGU out hit LMU .183 to .093 for the match.

Inside the Box Score
Kristen Moehring posted 8 kills on 22 swings for a .364 hitting percentage, five digs and three blocks.
Olivia Snyder had 13 digs.
- Agata Bogdanska led all with four blocks.
- Amanda Lisi registered 15 assists and 11 digs.


LMU vs. Fayetteville State
Set 1: Lincoln Memorial 25-20
The first set started with LMU coming out strong taking a quick 4-0 lead.  FSU fought back and caught the Lady Railsplitters at 6-6.  The set went back and forth until FSU had an 18-17 lead.  From there, LMU ran off six straight points and coasted to a 25-20 win. 

Set 2: Lincoln Memorial 27-25
The second set started out fairly even up to up to LMU taking a 12-9.  FSU kept it close until LMU pulled out to a 24-19 lead toward the end of the set.   FSU did not go away and fought back to tie the set at 24-24.  LMU, eventually, closed out the set taking the next three out of four points to finish, 27-25.
 
Set 3: Fayetteville State 25-21
The third set started out close with each team having 3-4 point mini-runs up to LMU leading 21-19.  FSU ran off the last six points to end the set, 25-21.
 
Set 4: Lincoln Memorial 26-24
The fourth set started out even with both sides trading points up to 6-6.  LMU pulled away to 9-6, but FSU came back with five of their own to take an 11-9 lead.  After a few rallies, FSU scored five in a row to take a 19-13 lead.  LMU started their comeback when they were down 22-15 by taking the next 11 out of 13 points for the 26-24 win and close out the match.
