Greenwood, SC – The Lincoln Memorial women's volleyball team dropped two today at the Redderson Invitational this afternoon in Greenwood, SC. LMU dropped the first match to Barton, 3-2. The Lady Railsplitters played host Lander in their second match of the day losing, 3-0. This puts LMU at 6-6 for the season.
LMU vs. Barton
Set 1: LMU 25-16
The first set started with LMU taking control early by jumping out early on Barton, 7-3. Barton came back with a run to close within one at 7-6. LMU held off the Bulldogs and held a 12-10 lead when the Lady Railsplitters went on a four-point run to lead 16-10. Both teams traded points to 18-14 when LMU went on a six-point run to take 24-14 lead. LMU finished the set, 25-16.
Set 2: Barton 25-22
The second set started with Barton taking an early 7-3 lead. LMU would close within one at 7-8, then the Bulldogs scored the next three. The Lady Railsplitters would catch the Bulldogs at 14-14, but Barton answered with three points to lead 17-14. LMU would, again, catch Barton at 19-19. The teams would trade side-outs until the end when Barton scored the final two points to win, 25-22.
Set 3: LMU 25-21
After the intermission, LMU got out to a quick 5-1 lead and eventually pushing the lead to 15-7. Both teams would trade scoring runs with LMU staying ahead, 20-14. Barton made a good push to get close at the end, but would fall, 25-21.
Set 4: Barton 25-14
The fourth set proved to be difficult for LMU. Barton edged ahead 8-4 and, eventually, built a six-point lead at 16-10. LMU would score the next three but never got closer as the Bulldogs ran off eight in a row and won 25-14 to tie the sets, 2-2.
Set 5: Barton 15-11
In the final set, LMU got out to a slow start, down early at 5-2 in a race to 15. LMU would score two to close within one, but Barton would take five out of the next six points to lead 10-5. LMU would fight back and take six out of the next seven points to tie, 11-11. Barton, then, ran off four in a row to win the deciding set, 15-11, and win the match.

Set 1: Lander 25-23
The first set started with LMU coming out strong taking an early 11-6 lead. At 12-8, Lander would go on an 11-2 run and take a 19-13 lead. The Lady Railsplitters would come back and catch the Bearcats at 21-21, but Lander replied by taking four of the next six points to win, 25-23.
Set 2: Lander 25-16
The second set started out with Lander jumping out to a 5-0 lead. LMU would respond with three straight points to keep it close. The Lady Railsplitter would get within one point at 15-16, but Lander would score nine out of the last 10 to win the set.
Set 3: Lander 25-9
The third set started out with jumping out to a 12-0 lead. LMU would try to fight back but was too far behind to catch the Bulldogs. Lander would win 25-9 and win the match.
