Harrogate, TN -- The Lincoln Memorial women's soccer team is off to a great start to the 2023 season. Following a season-opening win over Mount Olive on Thursday, the Lady Railsplitters tallied their second win of the season after downing Lees-McRae 1-0 in the home opener.

It was a back-and-forth battle throughout the duration of the game. Each team was granted an official extra water break during each half to combat the high heat and humidity. With boths teams vying to take control, each refused to budge defensively until late in the game when in the 75th minute, Donna Van der Zalm scored on a header on a perfect cross from the corner by Merel Houweling, giving Lincoln Memorial the 1-0 lead, which would be the final score.

With the victory, the Lady Railsplitters moved to 2-0 on the season, and will square off against Delta State University on September 7th at home.
