Harrogate, TN- The Lady Railsplitters are now 3-0 to start the season after winning their home matchup versus Delta State on Thursday.Â
LMU would start the day strong with a goal from Ellie Bowen in the first five minutes through an assist from Alicia Bevins. The Lady Statesmen would answer with a goal of my own by Ava Webster in the 12th minute.Â
The game would stay knotted at 1-1 for a while until LMU would draw a corner kick in the 36th minute. Merel Houweling would deliver a cross perfectly set up for a Katherine Browning header into the back of the net to put the Railsplitters up 2-1.Â
A lightning delay would strike four minutes before halftime leading to a long break for both teams. After the reset of the delay and halftime, the two squads would come out aggressive. Lincoln Memorial would keep the pressure on but just couldn't connect on their opportunities to extend the lead. Their defense would be enough to hold the lead and help the Lady Railsplitters to a victory.
LMU (3-0) will be back in action against Columbus State (0-1) on Sunday, September 10th at the LMU Lacrosse Complex for a Noon kickoff.
