Salisbury, NC - Lincoln Memorial's Women's Basketball fell to Catawba this afternoon, 70-58. This is LMU's first SAC loss this season dropping back in a tie with the Indians. The Lady Railsplitters are 11-2 and 6-1 in SAC play.
Notables:
LMU had three players in double-digit scoring:
Lauren Flowers had 16,
Jordan Maney had 15, and
Alexa Smiddy had 13. Catawba's Lyrik Thorne had 33 to lead all scorers.

Geo Rios led LMU with eight rebounds followed by
Jordan Maney with seven.
Team stats were very close across the board, except shooting percentage: Catawba 49.1% compared to LMU's 41.5%.
LMU started the first quarter with a three-pointer to take an early lead, but Catawba would answer with four points to take a one-point lead, 4-3. Maney would respond with a layup, but Catawba would answer back to tie the game at 7-7. Catawba would go on a six point run until Rios hit a jumper, 9-13. Catawba would score once more to take a 15-9 lead to end the quarter.
Catawba would open the second quarter with a basket, but Rios would hit a three, a free-throw by Maney, and a layup by Flowers would cut the Indian lead to two. Flowers and Thorne would trade baskets to get the score to 25-21. Catawba would go on a 10-point run to push their lead to 14 until Maney sank a free-throw to end the first half, 22-35.
Maney would open the third quarter scoring with a layup, but Catawba would answer with one of their own, then LMU would go on a seven-point run with two baskets by Flowers and a three by Smiddy, 31-37. The Indians stopped the run with a jumper, but Smiddy hit two three's and a Maney layup got the lead down to three, . Flowers and Maney hit baskets to get the lead down to two at the end of the third quarter.
Catawba would go on an eight point run to open the fourth quarter until Maney hit a layup, 48-56. Maney, Rios and Smiddy would trade baskets with Catawba, but could not close the gap, 58-66. Catawba closed out the game with free-throws, 70-58.
LMU will be at Mars Hill for their next game on Wednesday, the 17th, then home on the 20th against Lenoir-Rhyne.
