Harrogate, TN- The Railsplitters were back at home on Saturday, January 20th, for the first time following their return from California. The weekend matchup proved to be a nail-biter, with Lincoln Memorial surpassing North Greenville in a five set win.Â
North Greenville would take the first set in the game, recording 16 total kills and winning the segment 25-21. The Railsplitters would find a way, however, and take the second set 25-19. The momentum would carry the squad into the third, where a roaring .684 hitting percentage would aid a 25-14 third set victory. North Greenville wouldn't back down from the fight, though, returning with a .435 hitting percentage of their own to take the fourth 25-20. The Railsplitters would find themselves down 10-11 in the fifth, but five straight points would help to give LMU their second win of the year.
Lincoln Memorial would be led in kills by
Justin Sharfenaker and
Matthew Gentry with 12 and 11, respectively.
Ethan Morgan would aid in the effort, adding eight kills of his own on a .667 attack percentage.
Shay Spadaro would also add to the effort, posting six service aces on the day.Â
Lincoln Memorial will return to action in Mary Mars Gymnasium on Friday, January 26th, for a contest with Emmanuel University.Â
