Harrogate, TN - LMU's Men's Volleyball started off the regular season taking down Thomas More and giving Head Coach Brian Hogg his first collegiate head coaching victory. The Railsplitters won 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-23).
LMU out-hit TMU .528 to .167 getting 49 kills compared to 21 for the visitors.
Leaders:
Shay Spadaro led in kills with 12 for the match followed by Matt Gentry getting 10.
Gentry hit .615 and Spadaro hit .556 for the match.
Kohl Kutsch led the match giving out 40 assists.
Tate Colebaugh led the team with 5 digs followed closely by Spadaro with 4.
Gentry had 3.5 total blocks (1 solo, 5 assist).
LMU was in control for most of the match by leading early in the first two sets and keeping the pressure on the Saints.
In the third set, the Saints kept it close throughout the set always staying within two or three points. TMU got within one at 23-24, then
Liam Morrissey ended the match with a kill.
LMU will travel to the west coast this coming weekend to face #11 Pepperdine and #12 USC.
