Harrogate, TN- Lincoln Memorial took down Newberry in four sets tonight: 16-25, 25-16, 25-18, 25-21.
Lincoln Memorial struggled to begin the game, hitting just .033 while Newberry would hit for .500 in the frame, taking the early lead. LMU would manage to turn it around in the second, regaining some momentum and evening up the score. 11 ties and seven lead changes would be the story of the third, the back-and-forth battle eventually going LMU's way. Newberry would keep the fourth close, but Lincoln Memorial would continue to take the edge in the set until a late run would push them past the Wolves.
Abigail Kesler would lead the way for the Splitters, earning 17 kills on a .278 attack percentage on the evening. Moehring would add another double-digit kill performance to her resume, earning 10 on the day.
Braylynn Humphrey would lead the way serving for LMU, tallying four aces in the contest while
Agata Bogdanska would do the same on the densive end, totaling five blocks.
LMU moves to 13-5 on the season, 7-4 in conference play. They'll next hit the road on Tuesday, October 22nd, for a 7 PM road contest against the Wingate Bulldogs.Â
