Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial field hockey team is coming off of its best week in the history of the program. Entering the season with only one win in program history, the Railsplitters tallied their first win of the season on Oct. 20 and have yet to look back, taking down three straight opponents, including back-to-back conference foes. In all three games, it's hard to pinpoint an MVP for each one. However, you can rest assured that opposing offenses hate the sight of
Ana Carney. During the three game winning streak, Carney has accumulated an
astonishing 43 saves, allowing absolutely nothing. Lincoln Memorial as a team hasn't allowed a goal in the last 15 quarters of action.
Carney's heroics in the cage earned her the title of SAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. The Second Team All-Conference selection from 2023 is currently third in the South Atlantic Conference in save percentage (.827), .03 out of the top spot.
