Gaffney, SC - The Lincoln Memorial women's basketball team falls to King 54-68 Sunday afternoon in the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge.
It was a close battle all four quarters. In the 1st, LMU outscores the Tornado 16-13. Lincoln Memorial continue their offensive streak by outscoring King once again in the 2nd 17-15, with the score totaling to 33-28 at the end of the first. In the 3rd quarter, King finds the offensive push they needed to lead in scoring with King scoring double the amount of points that Lincoln Memorial scored, 8-16. The score at the end of the 3rd quarter was 41-44. In the 4th, King took the lead and never looked back, outscoring the Lady Railsplitters 13-24. The score at the end of the 4th was 54-68, giving the Tornado the win.
Matty Tanner lead the team with 16 points and 6 rebounds, and
Kamil Collier scored 13 points and a team-high 8 rebounds.
Alexa Smiddy had 12 points, 5 rebounds, and team-high 4 steals.
Jamyah Winter scored 7 points,
Lexi Patty scored 4, and
Caroline Sikkink scored 2 points.
The Lady Railsplitters move to a 1-1 overall record.
For their next game, LMU will travel to Belmont, NC to face Belmont Abbey on Wednesday, November 20th at 5 pm.
