Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team got some unexpected rest over the weekend following postponement of the Newberry game on Saturday, which has been rescheduled for Feb. 9. The Railsplitters will now be opening conference play on the road at Mars Hill against the Lions on Tuesday.
Lincoln Memorial has
dominated the series all-time with Mars Hill, holding a 31-2 advantage in the series history, including a 17-1 record at home and a 14-1 record at Mars Hill. Both victories for the Lions came in overtime. The first being an 88-83 decision in double overtime at Mars Hill in January of 2009, and the other, a 96-92 overtime decision in Harrogate in January of 2010. The Railsplitters haven't lost to Mars Hill in 14 years.
Lincoln Memorial enters the game with a 2-1 record, with its lone loss of the season so far coming at the hands of UNC-Pembroke on the road. Mars Hill enters the game with a 4-0 record, including a 2-0 mark in conference play with wins over Limestone and Anderson.
Tip-off between the Railsplitters and Lions is slated for 7:30 PM in Mars Hill, NC.
