Mars Hill, NC - The Lincoln Memorial Lady Railsplitters defeat the Mars Hill Lions 66-53 Tuesday evening.
In the first quarter, Lincoln Memorial outscored the Lions 14-9. The second quarter was pretty even as both teams scored 16 points each, which left the score 30-25 going into halftime with LMU in the lead. At this point in the game, it as been pretty even all-around, with LMU totaling 19 rebounds and Mars Hill registering 18. Lincoln Memorial was out-shooting the Lions in all three categories going into the second half: 10/27 field goals, 7/16 from the three, and 3/4 from the free-throw line.Â
In the third quarter, the scoring was almost even once again, with Mars Hill only scoring one more point than LMU, 15-16. In the fourth quarter, Lincoln Memorial dominated in points by outscoring the Lions 21-12. The score at the end of the fourth was 66-53, giving the Lady Railsplitters the win.Â
Jamyah Winter had a huge game as she scored a team-high 22 points and had 5 rebounds on the night.Â

Matty Tanner each scored 11 points, with Tanner registering 7 rebounds and Barr recording 4 along with a team-high 5 steals.Â
Alexa Smiddy posted 8 points, 6 rebounds, and a team-high 7 assists.Â

Kamil Collier scored 6 points. Â
LMU went 41.3% from the field and 33.3% from the three-point line. The Lady Railsplitters went 12 out of 14 from the free-throw line and out-rebounded the Lions 40-32.Â
With the win, the Lady Railsplitters improve to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.Â
For their next game, they will travel to Salisbury, NC on Saturday to face Catawba with a start time of 2 pm.Â
