Salisbury, NC - The Lincoln Memorial Lady Railsplitters fall to the Catawba Indians Saturday afternoon 59-66.
In the first quarter, Catawba outscored LMU 14-18, with the Indians scoring 46% from the field and Lincoln Memorial scoring 33%. Lincoln Memorial came into the second quarter stronger and outscored the Indians 17-13; the score going into halftime was tied 31-31.
In the third, the scoring was even 16-16, with the score going into the fourth being tied once again 47-47. The fourth quarter would be where Catawba gained their lead, outscoring LMU 12-19. That last push from the Indians would be what they needed to secure the win 59-66.
Alexa Smiddy led the team in scoring on the night with 14 points and 3 rebounds.
Jamyah Winter and
Caroline Sikkink both finished the night with 10 points each, with Winter also registering 5 rebounds and Sikkink posting 7.
Kamil Collier recorded 9 points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Matty Tanner registered 8 points, 8 rebounds, and a team-high 5 assists.
Federica Lagana scored 6 points and
Dominique Rodriguez scored 2.
With the loss, the Lady Railsplitters move to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
For their next game, they will travel to Gaffney, SC to face Limestone on Wednesday December 4th at 5:30 pm.
