Gaffney, SC - The Lincoln Memorial Lady Railsplitters defeat the Limestone Saints 77-63 Wednesday evening.
The Lady Railsplitters dominated the first quarter as they outscored Limestone 31-16, making 8/10 three-pointers and 5/6 free-throws. In the second quarter, LMU outscored Limestone once again 20-15, shooting 53% from the field. The score going into halftime was 51-31 with Lincoln Memorial in the lead.
In the third quarter, Lincoln Memorial struggled to put points on the board, as they only scored 10 points compared to Limestone's 13. Limestone outscored Lincoln Memorial once again in the fourth 16-19, but was unable to catch up because of LMU's high scoring first half. Lincoln Memorial was able to secure the win 77-63.
Kamil Collier had a double-double on the night with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Jamyah Winter and
Alexa Smiddy also scored double-figures, with Winter registering 25 points and Smiddy recording 13. Smiddy also posted a team-high 7 assists.
Dominique Rodriguez scored 7 points, and
Matty Tanner and
Caroline Sikkink each registered 6 points.
Asia Barr scored 3 points, and
Federica Lagana posted 5 rebounds.
The Lady Railsplitters shot 14/27 from the three and 25/49 from the field. Lincoln Memorial shot 81% from the free-throw line and out-rebounded the Saints 33-32.
With the win, the Lady Railsplitters improve to 4-3 overall and 3-1 in conference play. Their next game will be Saturday, December 7th against Anderson in Tex Turner Arena.
