Lady Railsplitters Fall Short to Tusculum

Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial Lady Railsplitters fall short to the Tusculum Pioneers 58-60 Wednesday evening. 

In the first quarter, Tusculum outscored LMU 22-16, with Alexa Smiddy scoring 9 out of the 16 points. The second quarter, Tusculum scored 14 points compared to Lincoln Memorial's 9, bringing the score going into halftime 25-36. The third quarter the scoring was almost even, with Lincoln Memorial scoring 11 points and Tusuclum scoring 14. The fourth quarter was LMU's highest scoring quarter, with Lincoln Memorial scoring 22 and Tusculum scoring 10. Despite the high-scoring fourth quarter from Lincoln Memorial, Tusculum put themselves in a large enough lead in the first half to keep the lead and secure the win 58-60.

Alexa Smiddy led the team in points with a season-high 28 points, while Kamil Collier had a double-double on the night with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Matty Tanner also recorded a season-high 11 rebounds and 5 assists, along with 2 points. Asia Barr registered 9 points and 5 rebounds, and Jamyah Winter posted 6 points. Caroline Sikkink rounded out the scoring with 3 points.

Lincoln Memorial went 30.6% from the field and 24% from the three. They went 14-16 from the free-throw line and out rebounded the Pioneers 38-37.

With the loss, LMU moves to 4-6 overall and 3-4 in conference play. Their next game will be at home on Saturday, December 21st against Wingate with a start time of 12 pm.
