Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial Lady Railsplitters fall to the Wingate Bulldogs 58-62 Saturday afternoon.
The first quarter, Lincoln Memorial recorded 15 points and Wingate scored 13. In the second quarter, both teams registered 12 points each, leaving the score 27-25 going into halftime. In the third, Wingate started to pull through offensively as they outscored the Lady Railsplitters 12-16, making the score 39-41 going into the fourth. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs scored 21 points compared to Lincoln Memorial's 19. Despite Lincoln Memorial keeping the lead for the majority of the first half, Wingate extended the lead enough in the second to secure the win 58-62.
Jamyah Winter led the scoring on the night with 13 points.
Alexa Smiddy registered 11 points, along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
Kamil Collier posted 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, and
Matty Tanner recorded 8 points, and 4 rebounds and assists.
Asia Barr and
Caroline Sikkink both registered 6 points and 5 rebounds each.
Keiara Anderson rounded out the scoring with 5 points.
Lincoln Memorial went 32.8% from the field and 34.3 percent from behind the arch. They went 4-4 from the free-throw line and posted 32 rebounds.
LMU recorded 17 assists, scored 18 points in the paint, and scored 10 points off of turnovers by Wingate.
With the loss, the Lady Railsplitters move to 4-7 overall and 3-5 in the South Atlantic Conference.
For their next game, they will travel to Hickory, NC to face Lenoir-Rhyne on Janurary 4, 2025 at 2 pm.
