Men's lacrosse downs Emmanuel on the road

Franklin Springs, GA - The Lincoln Memorial men's lacrosse team was back on turf Saturday in Georgia taking on Emmanuel University. Following back-to-back losses, the Railsplitters were seeking to work their way back into the win column and did just that with a 13-9 victory.

The Railsplitters made it known from the beginning that they were there for one reason: to win.

Rhodes Conroy ripped off two quick goals to give Lincoln Memorial a quick 2-0 lead with an assist from Francis O'Hara on the second goal. Daniel Pearl got in on the scoring action netting a goal at the 4:36 mark with an assist from Gavin Reid. Brock Saunders added the team's fourth goal at the 3:41 mark with an assist from Cole Morris to give the Railsplitters a 4-0 lead in the closing minutes of the opening frame. Pearl added his second goal of the game just before the first horn to extend the Lincoln Memorial lead to 5-0 after one.

Much like the first period, the second period belonged to the Railsplitters, however, the Lions were able to capitalize offensively, scoring three goals in the second. With a man-advantage, Pearl tallied the hatter just 1:30 into the second quarter. Just 30-seconds later, again on a man-advantage, Reid extended the Railsplitters lead to 7-0 with an assist from Pearl. Another 30-seconds transpired before Jenson Jones got in on the scoring action with an assist by Conroy to give Lincoln Memorial an 8-0 lead. The Lions finally got on the scoreboard in the second quarter with two goals from Jared Weiss, both assisted by Luke Hildebrandt, cutting the score to 8-2. Conroy added added another goal, giving him the hat trick at the 4:59 mark with an assist from Brixten McKenzie to extend the lead to 9-2. Emmanuel added one more in the period to chip away at the deficit, but were matched by a goal from Morris, assisted by Pearl, to close the first half with the Railsplitters maintaining a 10-3 lead.

Lincoln Memorial was outscored 6-3 in the back half of the game, but the damage had been done, allowing the Railsplitters to secure a 13-9 victory on the road at Emmanuel, improving to 2-2 on the season.
