Men's basketball seeking fifth win in a row on the road at Newberry

Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team is seeking its fifth win in a row following a decisive midweek road win at Tusculum on Wednesday. With the win, the Railsplitters improved to 19-6 overall with a 13-3 mark in conference play, remaining one game behind Wingate in the conference standings. Newberry is 6-16 on the year with a 5-12 mark in conference play. When the teams met in early December, Lincoln Memorial took a sizable victory, 89-50, at home.

Lincoln Memorial is led in scoring by freshman Wes Enis, who through 12 games is averaging 17.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. Me'Kell Burries follows closely with an average of 16.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. Chase Rankin averages a very well-balanced stat line, scoring an average of 14.6 points per game to go along with 5.2 rebounds per game and 5.6 assists per game. Senior forward Martez Brown continues to lead not only the conference, but the nation in rebounding, field goal percentage, and double-doubles. Last week, Brown was named to the Bevo Francis Award Top 50 Watch List for the best player in small college basketball. He is averaging 13.9 points and an astonishing 14.5 rebounds per game.

Tip-off between Lincoln Memorial and Newberry is slated for 4:00 PM in Newberry, SC.
