Harrogate, TN - One week after falling to the Carson-Newman Lady Eagles on the road, the Lincoln Memorial women's basketball team was back in action on Wednesday night at home against the visiting Emory & Henry Wasps. The Lady Splitters entered the contest with a 12-6 record and were looking to avoid a three-game skid.
Emory & Henry came out firing to start the game, taking an immediate 3-0 lead. The teams traded buckets throughout the course of the first period, with the Lady Wasps' lead growing to as many as seven at 20-13. However, Lincoln Memorial ended the first quarter to draw the game back to within one possession at 20-18. The second quarter started much like the first, as the Lady Wasps regained a seven point lead, 27-20, with 5:30 left in the first half. For the remainder of the second quarter, Lincoln Memorial went on a 15-6 run to take a 35-33 lead into the half, thanks to a buzzer beater by
Matty Tanner.
In the original Space Jam, the Tune Squad needed a boost at halftime to help them comeback against the Monstars. They drank some of Michael Jordan's water, labeled "Michael's Secret Stuff." Lincoln Memorial head coach Devan Carter seemed to delve into his stash of "Michael's secret stuff" at the half as the Lady Splitters began the second half of the game seemingly unable to miss a shot. The Lady Splitters erupted to a 10 point lead after holding the Lady Wasps to just one bucket in the opening minutes of the second half, going on a 10-2 run to take a 45-35 lead. From there, Lincoln Memorial never looked back. Emory & Henry battled back in the third, but still trailed Lincoln Memorial 58-51 entering the final frame.
The Lady Splitters started the fourth quarter on an 11-6 run, extending their lead to 69-57. The teams continued to match offensive production throughout the final frame, seeing Lincoln Memorial tally a bounce back win at home over the Lady Wasps, 82-72.

Jordan Maney with 12 points and three rebounds.
