Lincoln Memorial Women's Bowling Battles to Fourth Place in Conference Tournament

Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial Women's bowling team showcased their talent and determination at the 2024 Conference Carolina's Championship Tournament, securing an impressive fourth-place finish in a fiercely contested event held at Liberty Lanes in Gastonia, North Carolina. 

Entering the tournament as the second seed, the Railsplitters faced stiff competition from formidable opponents, with Walsh University claiming the top seed. The stage was set for an intense showdown on Friday as the team kicked off their campaign with a resounding victory against Thomas More, setting the tone for their championship aspirations. 

Buoyed by their initial success, the Railsplitters approached Saturday's matches with confidence and determination. However, the day brought its share of challenges as they faced off against the third seed, Belmont Abbey, in a crucial match-up. Despite putting up a valiant effort, the team narrowly fell short against their opponents, resulting in a hard-fought defeat. 

Following their initial setback, the Railsplitters faced an uphill battle as they prepared to take on top-seeded Walsh University in a pivotal match-up. Despite their best efforts, the Lincoln Memorial team fell short against their formidable opponents, bringing an end to their journey in the double-elimination tournament. 

Despite the disappointment of the loss, the Railsplitters can take pride in their remarkable performance throughout the tournament. Their resilience, teamwork, and dedication were on full display as they competed against some of the best teams in the conference. As they bid farewell to the tournament, the team remains determined to learn from their experiences and return even stronger in future competitions. 

Kayleigh McMullen's standout performances at the 2024 Conference Carolina's Championship Tournament have earned her a well-deserved spot on the All-Tournament Team. As a key member of the Lincoln Memorial Women's bowling team, McMullen's consistent excellence on the lanes was instrumental in her team's success.
