Anderson, SC- LMU would fall to Anderson in their road doubleheader on Wednesday, April 10th by scores of 0-5 and 1-7.
LMU would find it hard to get going in game one, earning only two hits in the contest. Anderson's Maxwell would be extremely solid on the mound for the Trojans, striking out 18 and only giving up three free bases.
Anna Kate Reichter and
Nicole Couvertiere would be the sole Splitters in the hit column on the game.
A similar story would follow for game two, Anderson striking first and LMU being forced to play from behind. The team would keep it close, going scoreless for several innings until the Trojans would find a groove in the bottom of the fifth to cross six runs. Reichter would try and have an answer, earning a hit to knock in
Reese Vivrette in the top of the sixth. Anderson would shut down the team's rally efforts, though, the game ending 1-7.
LMU falls to 23-21 (10-10) on the year and will be back in action on Saturday, April 13th, for a 1 PM/3 PM doubleheader against Limestone in Harrogate.Â
