Harrogate, TN - Three days after splitting a double header with Carson-Newman, the Lincoln Memorial baseball team was back in action at home on Tuesday in non-conference action, playing host to the Trevecca Nazarene University Trojans. The Railsplitters entered the game with a 24-15 record.
The Trojans were the first on the board in the top of the first inning, scoring on a walk with the bases loaded, taking a 1-0 lead. Lincoln Memorial responded in the bottom of the inning with three runs.

Mitch Petzelt was walked with the bases loaded, scoring
Cameron Bowen, giving the Railsplitters a 3-1 advantage.
The Trojans tied the game in the second inning, driving in two runs to bring the score to 3–3. After retiring the Lincoln Memorial offense, Trevecca gained its first lead of the game in the top of the third, driving in two runs to bring the score to 5-3. It would be the last lead of the game for Trevecca Nazarene. Lincoln Memorial regained the lead in the bottom of the third inning, adding six runs.
Chris Hall reached first base on an error, allowing Bowen to score. Goda doubled to left field driving in Petzelt and LaMattina.
Kasten Harvey connected on a three run bomb, driving in Goda and Hall to give the Railsplitters at 9–5 lead. Both teams failed to score again until the sixth inning before the Railsplitters began to pour it on. LaMattina drove in
Ryan Kurth with a double to left center, Petzelt drove in LaMattina with a single down the left field line, and
Chris Hall doubled to left center driving in Petzelt, further extending the Lincoln Memorial lead to 12–5. With the game firmly in hand, the Railsplitters added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Thailand Love drove in Kowalski with a double to left field, and LaMattina drove in Love with a sac-foul, seeing the Railsplitters secure a 14–5 victory, improving to 25–15 on the season. Lincoln Memorial will be back in action on Wednesday hosting No.2 North Greenville.
