Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season on Wednesday at home against the visiting Emory & Henry Wasps, dominating the game emphatically from start to finish. During the 24-2 rout,
Chandler Bell set a new single game assist record with 12Â assists. She broke the record (9) set by teammate
Camdyn Bullard earlier this season. She also added two goals during the game, giving her 14 total points for the game, setting the new single game points record as well. The Railsplitters had 13 different players tally goals in Wednesday's game, including three different players recording hat tricks.
Lincoln Memorial came out putting pedal to metal, wasting no time in forcing a running clock. In the blink of an eye the score shot to 10-0 by the end of the first quarter. Not only did Bell set the assist record during the game, she was responsible for every single assists during the game for either team. Bell was the first to score, tallying a goal in the first :30-seconds.
Ana Carney,
Amber Kirkpatrick, and
Josie Tinnerello score the next three goals with Bell assisting on each one.
Sophia Gardea then tallied an unassisted goal before Bell added her second of the game.
McKenzie Cates and
Haleigh Barnett got in on the scoring action, tallying the game's next two goals, both assisted by Bell.
Deadre Jackson scored unassisted before Kirkpatrick scored the period's final goal, assisted by Bell, bringing the score to 10-0 in favor of the Railsplitters, imposing a running clock.
Rudi Lyles and
Jaedyn Ryba tallied the first two goals of the second quarter, unassisted, to further extend the lead. Tinnerello and
Breanna Booth added the next two goals, both assisted by Bell. Jackson added two more goals before the end of the period to record her hat trick before halftime. Lyles added her second goal of the game prior to the horn as well, assisted by Bell, seeing Lincoln Memorial take a commanding 17-0 lead into the half.Â
It was more of the same as play resumed in the third quarter as the Railsplitters failed to relent.
Liza Buckner and
Jessie McKilligan scored their first goals of the game to start the third quarter with Bell assisting McKilligan. Emory & Henry found its way onto the board with 8:31 remaining in the third. Lyles recorded her hat trick and Booth scored her second of the game, both unassisted, before Jackson added her fourth goal of the game with an assist by Bell. The assist gave Bell the outright single game record with 10 assists. Lyles added her fourth goal moments later. Lincoln Memorial added its final goal of the game with 8:31 remaining when Kirkpatrick scored on an assist by Bell, giving Kirkpatrick the hat trick and Bell her 11th assist of the game. The Wasps added a final goal in the closing seconds of the game, seeing Lincoln Memorial take an emphatic 24-2 victory to wrap up the regular season.
