Men's basketball announces staff changes

Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team announced a triad of staff changes on Tuesday. John Tedesco was promoted from Graduate Assistant Coach to Assistant Coach. Tedesco joined the Lincoln Memorial staff in the 2022-2023 season and served as a GA for two years prior to being promoted. Men's basketball head coach Jeremiah Samarrippas expressed his happiness with retaining and promoting Tedesco. "I'm thrilled for John and thankful we could keep him a part of our program," he said. "John has a unique ability to touch a lot of different areas within our program and does it at a very high level. Even more so, John is an elite worker and continues to show why he deserved this opportunity in a full-time position."

The team also announced the hiring of former men's basketball player Alex Dahling as an assistant coach. Dahling is the Lincoln Memorial all-time leader for men's basketball in games played (146). He is third in all-time 3-point field goals made in men's basketball history with 262 and third in all time 3-point field goals attempted with 675. Samarrippas touched on Dahling's time as a player and how his background and mentality will benefit the team's dynamic. "We're extremely lucky to have Alex returning to LMU in a Coaching role with our program," he said. "Alex was one of the winningest players we've had at LMU in my time on campus, racking up 129 total wins in his college career as a player. He has a great feel for our playing style and overall scheme in our system. Our players will benefit tremendously from his experience playing at LMU and in SAC, more importantly being apart of historical teams and pushing our guys on what it takes to get to an elite level as a group."

Head Coach Samarrippas also announced the hiring of Jaylen Miley from Tennessee State University. Miley's background includes an extensive graphic design portfolio for multiple organizations and institutions. Samarrippas expressed his pleasure with adding someone with Miley's acumen to the staff. "I'm excited to announce the hiring of Jaylen Miley in a Graduate Assistant role," he said. "His experience working with the staff at Tennessee State will help immensely in his first year with our program. Jaylen has all the qualities we search for when adding a new staff member. He's great with on-court development, passionate about data and analytics, communicates well with players and believes in building genuine relationships."
