Murfeesboro, NC- LMU Women's Volleyball takes the first match of the regular season in sweeping fashion. Their 3-0 victory over Elizabeth City State University marks the first game in the Chowan Invitational.
The Lady Railsplitters were effective, hitting .358 in the match. The team would more than double their opponent in points (48), kills (36), aces (10), and assists (31). Preseason All-Conference First Team selection
Kristen Moehring starts the season strong, leading the team in kills with 16 on the night. Freshman
Lauren Jacob also made an impressive collegiate debut, tallying 15 digs in the contest. Joining them as a stat leader would be Megain Maier with three aces in the win.
LMU returns to the court tomorrow, September 7th, for two games. They'll face Newberry at 9 AM followed by host school Chowan at 11 AM at the Hawks Athletic Center in Murfeesboro.Â
