Well-balanced attack, stifling defense leads 6th ranked Lincoln Memorial past Emory & Henry

Harrogate, TN - The 6th-ranked Lincoln Memorial men's basketball team was back on its home court less than a week after defeating Catawba, 83-53. For the 16th game in a row (every game this season) the Railsplitters held their opponent to less than its season average in points scored per game. The Lincoln Memorial offense was extremely balanced with five players in double figures; almost six. For the fifth game in a row, Lincoln Memorial shot over 50% from the floor and remain in the top 10 nationally in offensive efficiency.

Emory & Henry started fast, jumping out to a quick 7-3 lead. The lead ballooned to 14-11 before Lincoln Memorial regained the lead on the heels of a 14-0 run, taking a 25-14 advantage. The Railsplitters maintained an eight point advantage at the half, 38-30. The Wasps started the second half fast, cutting the scoring deficit to five points, 38-33. However, Lincoln Memorial flipped a switch and began to erupt offensively. A 16-4 run saw the Railsplitters jump out to a 53-35 lead with 12:16 left in the game. Lincoln Memorial out scored Emory & Henry 28-23 for the remainder of the game to secure an 81-55 victory.

The Railsplitters' offense saw five, almost six, players crest double figures, led by Wes Enis with 20 points. He was followed closely by Elyjah Freeman with 18 points. Both added seven rebounds apiece. Osmar Garcia-Araujo and Thomas Allard added 11 points each. Mahmoud Bangura "Mo" added 10 points. Connor Jordan was nearly the sixth player in double figures for Lincoln Memorial with nine points. Ngundeng Ruey added two points to round out scoring for Lincoln Memorial. The Railsplitters shot an eye-popping 57% from the floor, including a 44.4% mark from long range.

With the victory, the Railsplitters improved to 14-2 on the season with a 12-1 mark in conference play and are now on a five game winning streak.
