Harrogate, TN – Lincoln Memorial fell in straight sets to Anderson (S.C.) on Friday night, 18–25, 17–25, 23–25, inside Mary Mars Gymnasium. With the loss, the Railsplitters drop to 7–11 overall and 3–6 in South Atlantic Conference play.
LMU opened the match strong, keeping pace through several early ties before Anderson closed the first set with a late run to take it 25–18. The Trojans carried that momentum into the second, using a .174 hitting percentage and solid defensive play to build an early lead and pull away 25–17. The third set was the closest of the night, featuring 10 ties and six lead changes, but Anderson held off a late LMU rally to complete the sweep, 25–23.
Megan Maier led the Railsplitters with eight kills, while Finley Sparks added four kills, three service aces, and seven digs. Sarah Robbins tallied five kills and five total blocks, and setters Carley Raleigh and Lauren Pickett combined for 18 assists. Riley Lockhart led the LMU defense with 14 digs. As a team, LMU finished with 22 kills, 50 digs, and seven blocks.
The Railsplitters hit the road for their next match on Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 6 p.m., when they travel to UVA Wise for another SAC matchup. LMU swept the Cavaliers 3–0 earlier this season in Harrogate.
