Wise, VA – Lincoln Memorial fell in straight sets to UVA Wise on Tuesday night, 18–25, 19–25, 21–25, inside the David J. Prior Convocation Center. With the loss, the Railsplitters move to 7–12 overall and 3–7 in South Atlantic Conference play.
The opener featured several early ties before the Cavaliers closed on a late surge to take it 25–18. UVA Wise carried that edge into the second, using a strong service game to build separation and win 25–19. LMU fought hard in the third trimming the deficit to 24–21 with a late push but the Cavaliers finished the frame to complete the sweep.
Kaytlin Johnson and Sarah Robbins shared team-high honors with six kills apiece, while Jazmine Starks added five kills and led the net front with five total blocks. Setters Carley Raleigh (12) and Lauren Pickett (11) combined for 23 assists. Libero Riley Lockhart led the team with 21 digs. As a team, LMU totaled 28 kills and 54 digs.
The Railsplitters return home on Friday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. to host Lenoir–Rhyne in a SAC matchup inside Mary Mars Gym.
