Harrogate, TN – Lincoln Memorial fell in straight sets to Lenoir–Rhyne on Friday night, 16–25, 20–25, 13–25, inside Mary Mars Gym. The Bears hit .288 with nine aces and seven blocks, while LMU was held to .083 hitting on 27 kills.
The Railsplitters pushed late in the second frame behind steady attacks and serving, but Lenoir–Rhyne answered with a closing run to take a 2–0 lead before finishing the match in the third.
Kaytlin Johnson led LMU with 9 kills, and Finley Sparks added 6. Setter Lauren Pickett posted 22 assists, and libero Lauren Jacob collected a match-high 20 digs. At the net, Sarah Robbins totaled 3 solo blocks and 4 kills, while LMU's serve produced 4 aces, two from Georgia Dobson, plus one each from Robbins and Sparks.
The Railsplitters return home on Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 6 p.m. to host Emory & Henry in South Atlantic Conference play inside Mary Mars Gymnasium.
