Harrogate, TN - Women's cross country/women's track and field athlete
Theresa Brosthaus has been named this week's First Century Bank Scholar-Athlete of the Week. Brosthaus, an Elementary Education major, bolsters a 3.938 GPA. She has made the Dean's list every year at LMU, the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll as a freshman and sophomore, the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award as a freshman and sophomore, and the CSC Academic All-District team as a sophomore. She is the program record holder in the women's 800m with a blazing time of 2:12.14, and finished 2nd in the SAC Championships in the women's 800m as a sophomore. Brosthaus was named USTFCCCA All Southeast Region in the women's 800m as a sophomore.
Her contributions stretch well beyond the course, extending far into the community. As a freshman, Brosthaus participated as a member of the Midweek Recharge, a weekly bible study, as well as volunteering for various races and track meets, and fundraising for the LMU track team. As a sophomore, She continued her work with the Midweek Recharge, became a Lincoln Ambassador, Young Life Leader, a member of the Baptist College Ministry, a member of Wild Ones (a young adult and college ministry), read to elementary students for Little Dreamers and Read-Across America, Christmas in a Show Box, and volunteered at various elementary and middle schools. She has continued all of her community service projects into her junior year.
