WVB Falls at Newberry

Newberry, SC - Lincoln Memorial opened on fire and took the first set, but Newberry answered to edge the match 3–1 (25–11, 22–25, 25–27, 23–25) on Friday night at Eleazer Arena. The result moves Women's Volleyball to 10–14 overall and 6–9 in SAC play.

LMU blitzed the Wolves early, hitting .560 in the opening frame to win 25–11 and seize momentum. Newberry steadied in the second, then snuck out a swing set in the third (27–25) before closing the fourth 25–23. The Wolves hit .300 and .349 in the final two sets to finish at .255, while LMU posted a strong .263 for the night with 59 total kills.

Alexia McGee powered the attack with 18 kills on .382 hitting, joined by Kaytlin Johnson (14 kills, .462) and Georgia Dobson (12 kills, .294). The serve game was a bright spot: the Railsplitters racked up 13 aces, led by Lauren Jacob (4), Lauren Pickett (3), and Megan Maier (2). Pickett distributed 27 assists with three aces, while Carley Raleigh added a double-double (18 assists, 11 digs). Sarah Robbins chipped in five block assists as LMU totaled five team blocks and 62 digs.

The Railsplitters head to Jefferson City on Tuesday, Nov. 4, for a 7 p.m. SAC matchup at Carson–Newman.
