Harrogate, TN - Alexa Smiddy has been named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association's Women's Basketball Player of the Week. 

The guard scored 31 points in an 88–77 win over Lenoir-Rhyne, shooting 9/15 from the field and 4/8 from beyond the arc, while making 9/13 free throws. She also contributed three rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the Lady Railsplitters' victory. Through five games so far this season, Smiddy is averaging 12.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
