Anderson, SC – Lincoln Memorial women's basketball finishes out 2025 conference play with a win over the Anderson Trojans Saturday afternoon 62-72.
Lincoln Memorial got on the boards in the first quarter, out rebounding the Trojans 9-13. The Lady Railsplitters defense was also strong, allowing Anderson to shoot only 17% from the field. With
Kamil Collier scoring double digits in the opening frame with ten, LMU had the lead going into the second quarter 10-12.
The momentum was picked up in the second quarter, as they shot 54% from the field, 50% from the three, and 9/9 from the charity stripe. The Lady Railsplitters nearly doubled Anderson in scoring 12-23, with
Alexa Smiddy recording nearly half of LMU's points with 12. Lincoln Memorial went into halftime with the 13-point lead, with the score being 22-35.
The third was the was the closest quarter thus far, as both teams added 20 points to their score, but the Lady Railsplitters climbed up to 64% shooting from the field.
Lexi Patty led the team in points in third with eight points, and Lincoln Memorial had the advantage going into the fourth quarter 42-55.
Anderson made a strong attempt in the fourth to shorten LMU's lead, as the Trojans added 20 points and Lincoln Memorial scored 15. Anderson's attempt to take the lead was unsuccessful as the Lady Railsplitters took home the win 62-72.
Collier led the team with her sixth double double of the season with a season-high 26 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Smiddy, who also had 20+ points with 22. Patty also recorded double-digits on the afternoon with ten points, and she also contributed five rebounds and team-high four steals.
Keiara Anderson and
Asia Barr followed with five and four points, respectively, as well as three rebounds each.
Sariya Henry and
Ajalon Gillard finished out the scoring for LMU with Henry registering three points and Gillard adding two.
As a team, Lincoln Memorial went 50% from the field, 31.3% from the three, and a perfect 17/17 from the free throw line.
Lincoln Memorial recorded 35 rebounds, seven steals, 38 points in the paint, 16 points off of Trojan turnovers, eight fast break points, four second chance points, and five points from the bench.
With the win, LMU improves to 9-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play as Anderson drops to 4-6 overall and 1-4 in the SAC.
