Lady Railsplitters Fall To Trojans

Anderson, SC  - The Lincoln Memorial Lady Railsplitters fell to the Anderson Trojans Saturday afternoon 53-71.

Lincoln Memorial had a great start to the game; in the first quarter, LMU outscored Anderson 16-13. In the second, it was a tough battle, but Lincoln Memorial came on top, scoring 18 points compared to the Trojan's 17. The Lady Railsplitters also had their best three-point percentage of the game in the second, as they went 50% from behind the arch. LMU was slightly in the lead going into halftime, with the score being 34-30.

In the third, the Trojans picked up their momentum and took the lead by scoring 19 points in the third while LMU only posted 11 points. Anderson limited the Lady Railsplitters scoring in the fourth, by only allowing them to put up 8 points. Anderson posted 22 points in the fourth, giving them the win 53-71.

Matty Tanner was the game leader in scoring with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Kamil Collier  was behind her, posting 10 points and 7 rebounds. Alexa Smiddy and Jamyah Winter both registered 8 points, with Smiddy also getting 6 rebounds. Lexi Patty and Dominique Rodriguez both recorded 5 points each, and Patty also grabbed 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Asia Barr and Caroline Sikkink finished out the scoring with Barr scoring 3 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists, and Sikkink posting 1 point, and 6 rebounds.

As a team, they went 30.6% from the field, 8/27 from behind the arch, and 77.8% from the free-throw line. They scored 22 points from the paint, 9 fast break points, and 17 points off of Anderson turnovers.

With the loss, the Lady Railsplitters move to 9-11 overall and 8-9 in the conference.

Their next game will be at home, hosting UVA Wise on Wednesday, February 5th at 5:30 pm in Tex Turner Arena.
