Harrogate, TN – The Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team defeat the Bobcats of Lees-McRae 3-0 for their 10
th win of the season.
Lincoln Memorial put themselves in a large lead in the beginning of the set with a 7-2 run, and ultimately that gave LMU the win for set one 19-25. The second set was more of a battle in the beginning, but the Railsplitters finished the set strong with a 10-2 run to give set 2 to Lincoln Memorial 12-25. The third set was just like the second set, with the Bobcats only putting together 12 points and Lincoln Memorial taking the third set to give the Railsplitters the sweep for the win 3-0.
Matthew Gentry almost tallied double-digit kills on the night, as he posted a team-high 9 kills for an attack percentage of .818, and he also led in blocks with 4.
John Luers led yet another game in assists with 27, and
Inbar Shachar registered 5.
Eliel Salva Torres had the team-high in service aces with 3, and
Griffin Wheatley led the night in digs with 7.
As a team, the team posted an attack percentage of 0.292 in the first, 0.4 in the second, and 0.385 in the third for a match attack percentage of 0.357. They tallied 47.5 points compared to Lees-McRae's 25, 35 kills, 8 service aces, 4 blocks, 32 assists., and 29 digs.
With the win, the Railsplitters improve to 10-1 on the season.
Their next match will be at home on Thursday, February 20
th at 6 pm, as they face Fort Valley State University.
