Women's Lacrosse Falls Short To Trojans

Harrogate, TN – The Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse team falls short to the Trojans of Anderson 9-17 Wednesday evening.

Anderson would start out the scoring, as Wilkins scores with 14:02 remaining and Scattareggia would add a goal with 12:22 remaining in the first quarter. LMU would then gain their offensive momentum and have a 6-0 scoring run, with the first goal coming from Josie Tinnerello with 11:37 remaining, and Breanna Booth adding a goal less than a minute later with 11:12 remaining. Tinnerello would then secure the brace as she posts her second goal of the match with 9:03 remaining, and Booth would also tally a brace of her own as she scores her second goal with 7:10 remaining. After seeing her two teammates secure braces, Jaiden Jaynes decided to also as she scores back to back goals, with her first goal with 5:39 remaining and her second with 4:08 remaining. The Trojans would finish out the first quarter with three more goals: Randolph with 3:08 remaining, Skeffington with 0:38 remaining, and Kelley at the buzzer to bring the score 6-5 with Lincoln Memorial in the lead.

The second quarter would be a low scoring quarter, as the only two goals come from Anderson's Skeffington with 12:19 remaining and Wilkins with 6:14 remaining to make the score 6-7 going into halftime with the Trojans in the lead.

The third would be all Anderson, as they restricted LMU from scoring and also extending their lead by 6 goals: Skeffington with 13:20 remaining, Muir with 10:00 remaining, Toole with 7:06 remaining, Tiongco with 6:32 remaining, Muir with 4:32 remaining, and Wilkins wit 2:36 remaining to make the score 6-13 going into the fourth quarter.

Lincoln Memorial managed to put up some more goals in the fourth, as Jaedyn Ryba adds her first goal of the match quickly into the fourth quarter with 14:18 remaining. Anderson then responds with 2 goals: Skeffington with 12:36 remaining and Muir with 10:24 remaining. Tinnerello would then score back-to-back goals as she scores her first goal with 6:45 remaining with Amber Kirkpatrick earning her first assist and her second goal with 6:01 remaining with Briana Martinez getting her first assist. Anderson would finish out the match with 2 more goals: Skeffington with 5:28 remaining and Wilkins with 4:23 remaining, giving the Trojans the win 9-17.

Tinnerello would lead the team in points with 4 as she scores 4 goals, followed by Booth and Jaynes with 2 points as they both score 2 goals each. Martinez, Ryba, and Kirkpatrick would all finish with 1 point, with Martinez and Kirkpatrick tallying an assist each and Ryba scoring 1 goal. Ryba and Samantha Billingsley would both lead in ground balls with 2 each. Autumn Kirkpatrick, Brookelyn Walls, Savannah Telemeco, Ryan Smith, Keegan Gillman, and Amber Kirkpatrick would each tally 1 caused turnover each. Gillman and Elle Miller would both get time in goal, with Gillman getting 4 saves and Miller tallying 5.

As a team, Lincoln Memorial recorded 20 shots, with 13 of them on goal, 13 successful clears, 10 ground balls, and 17 draw controls.

With the loss, LMU moves to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the SAC.
