Women's Lacrosse Travels To Catawba Saturday

Salisbury, NC -  The Lincoln Memorial women's lacrosse team will travel to Salisbury, NC this Saturday to face the Catawba Indians at 11 am.

Saturday's match will be the 11th time that the two teams will be facing each other, with the series tied at 5-5. LMU has won the last 5 matches: a 13-2 win at Catawba in March of 2019, a 14-10 win at Catawba in March of 2021, a 8-6 win in Harrogate in March of 2022, a 16-7 win at Catawba in April of 2023, and a 13-6 win in Harrogate in March of 2024.

Lincoln Memorial is coming off of a 7-18 loss against Lenoir-Rhyne. Josie Tinnerello and Amber Kirkpatrick both led in points with 3, as Kirkpatrick posted 2 goals and 1 assist and Tinnerello scored a team-high 3 goals. Samantha Billingsley and Amber Kirkpatrick were both team-leaders in ground balls with 3 each. Billingsley, Ryba, and Ryan Smith all led in caused turnovers with 3 each, and Davis and Tinnerello both led in draw controls with 3 each. Goalkeepers Keegan Gillman and Elle Miller recorded 3 saves and 6 saves, respectively.

Currently, Tinnerello is leading the team in points with 53 for a team-high 42 goals and 11 assists, with Kirkpatrick behind her with 44 points for 20 goals and team-high 24 assists. Delaney Duck is the team-leader in ground balls on the season with 20 and in caused turnovers with 17. Tinnerello leads in draw controls with 35.

In the SAC, Tinnerello is 6th in draw controls per game with 3.18, 1st in goals with 42, 1st in goals per game with 3.82, 1st in points with 53, 1st in points per game with 4.82, 3rd in shots per game with 7.27, and 2nd in shots on goal per game with 5.55. Kirkpatrick is 1st in assists with 24, 2nd in assists per game with 2.18, 3rd in points with 44, and 5th in points per game with 4. Jalee Davis is 7th in draw controls per gae with 2.91.

Nationally, Tinnerello is 5th in the nation in goals, 8th in points, and 30th in points per game. Kirkpatrick is 7th in the nation in assists, 19th in assists per game, and 27th in points. 

As a team Lincoln Memorial is 3rd in the conference in assists per game with 6, 2nd in caused turnovers per game with 10.64, 3rd in draw control percentage with 0.512, 3rd in draw controls per game wit 14.09, 3rd in draw controls per game with 14.09, 3rd in free position percentage with 0.458, 4th in points per game with 18.09, 4th in scoring offense with 12.09, and 3rd in shot percentage with 0.482.

Catawba is coming off of a 19-6 win against Newberry. 

Lincoln Memorial currently has an overall record of 5-6 and a 2-3 conference record, and they are sitting in 7th in the SAC standings. Catawba has a 5-4 overall record and a conference record of 3-2, and they are currently sitting in 6th place in the SAC standings.
