Men's Volleyball Sweeps Bulldogs

Wilson, NC – The Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball team defeats the Barton Bulldogs in three sets 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-19) to give the Railsplitters a double-digit win streak and their 9th consecutive sweep.

The Railspitters pieced together several 3-0 runs to give Lincoln Memorial an early lead in the first set, which ultimately gave LMU enough of a lead to secure set one 24-19 despite the back-and-forth points between the teams for the rest of the set. The second set was a battle in the beginning but an 11-4 Railsplitter run and a -0.045 Bulldog attack percentage gave Lincoln Memorial a set two win 25-16.  The third set was the closest set of the match, but a 5-0 right at the start of the set and a 4-0 run mid set gave Lincoln Memorial the win for set three 25-19, giving LMU the 3-0 match sweep.

Matthew Gentry led the team on the night in kills, as he tallied double-digit 10 kills for the team-high attack percentage of 0.643 and also was the team-leader in service aces with 4.  Along with offensive leads, Gentry also led in total blocks with 2.5 blocks for 2 solo blocks and 1 block assist.
