Huntsville, AL – Lincoln Memorial closed out the UAH Invitational with a tough day on Saturday, dropping matches to both Spring Hill and Nova Southeastern. The Railsplitters finish the weekend 1–3 in Huntsville.
In Saturday's opener, LMU fell in straight sets to Spring Hill, 25–19, 25–20, 25–18. The Railsplitters stayed close early in each frame but struggled to slow down the Badgers' balanced attack, which finished with a .272 hitting percentage and nine service aces. Kaytlin Johnson led LMU with 10 kills and eight digs, while Megan Maier added seven kills and nine digs. Libero Lauren Jacob recorded 11 digs and a service ace, and setters Lauren Pickett and Carley Raleigh combined for 29 assists.
In their second match of the day, LMU fell in straight sets to Nova Southeastern, 21–25, 20–25, 23–25. Despite a late push in the third frame, the Railsplitters couldn't overcome the Sharks' efficient attack, which produced 45 kills at a .263 clip. Sarah Robbins led LMU with eight kills on a .467 hitting percentage, while Alexia McGee added eight kills of her own at .333. Megan Maier chipped in nine kills and eight digs, and libero Lauren Jacob anchored the defense with a team-high 17 digs. At setter, Lauren Pickett and Carley Raleigh shared the workload with 17 assists each, while Pickett also served up two aces
The Railsplitters close the UAH Invitational with an 0–2 mark on Saturday, finishing the weekend 1–3 in Huntsville and moving to 4–5 overall. LMU will return to Harrogate on Tuesday, September 16, for a South Atlantic Conference matchup against UVA Wise, with first serve set for 6 p.m. inside Mary Mars Gym.
