Harrogate, TN – Women's volleyball continued its strong play at home Tuesday night, sweeping UVA Wise 3–0 inside Mary Mars Gym to secure its second straight South Atlantic Conference victory.
The Railsplitters controlled the opening set 25–21 behind efficient attacking and steady defense. LMU stayed in command during the second frame, building an early lead and closing out a 25–22 win. In the third, the Cavaliers tried to keep pace, but the Railsplitters dictated the action and sealed the sweep with a 25–20 finish.
Laney Inman powered the offense with a match-high 10 kills on a blistering .714 hitting percentage, while Megan Maier added nine kills and two service aces. Kaytlin Johnson contributed seven kills and a team-best 17 digs, and libero Lauren Jacob added 13 digs to anchor the defense. Setters Lauren Pickett and Carley Raleigh kept the attack balanced, combining for 30 assists and five aces.
The win improves the Railsplitters to 5–5 overall and 2–0 in SAC play, while the Cavaliers drop to 4–5 and 0–2 in conference action. LMU will remain at home on Thursday, September 18, for a nonconference matchup against King University. First serve is set for 6 p.m. inside Mary Mars Gym.
