Harrogate, TN - The Lincoln Memorial women's soccer team will have their home opener against the Converse Valkyries Wednesday afternoon at LMU Lacrosse Complex at 5 pm.
This will be the sixth overall meeting between the two teams, with the Railsplitters coming out on top of the series 4-1. Their most recent win at home was on September 10, 2019, where LMU came out victorious 6-0.
Lincoln Memorial is looking to bounce back at home as they are coming off of a 0-3 loss against #11 Catawba.
Paige Branam is leading the team in points with six with three goals, and
Viktoria Filsner and
Hannah Stafford follow her with five points with one goal and three assists each.
Ellie Snyder and Filsner are the team-leaders in shots with nine each, while Snyder is the leader in shots on goal with seven for a 77.8 shot on goal percentage.
In the South Atlantic Conference, Filsner is 4th in assists per game (0.50) and 2nd in total assists (3). Stafford is also 2nd in total assists (3), and Branam is 5th in total goals (3).
Emma Cooke is leading the conference in saves (31), leading the conference in saves per game (5.17), and 5th in shutouts (2).
As a team, Lincoln Memorial is 2nd in saves per game (5.33), and 4th in corner kicks per game (5.33).
The Railsplitters are going into the weekend contest with a 2-3-1 overall record and a 0-2 conference record. In the South Atlantic Conference standings, LMU is tied for 5th with Emory & Henry and Carson-Newman.
The Valkyries are going into Wednesday with a 2-2-2 overall record and a 1-1-1 conference record. Converse is tied for 2nd place with Lees-McRae in the Northwest Division of the Conference Carolinas standings.
