Harrogate, TN - Lincoln Memorial men's volleyball suffered its first setback of the season Saturday night, falling to Erskine College 3–1 (27–29, 25–14, 19–25, 25–27) inside Mary Mars Gymnasium.

The match featured tight swings throughout, with both teams finishing with 34 digs and trading runs in each set. LMU hit .319 with 58 kills, while Erskine posted .333 with 56 kills. The visitors also finished with six service aces and 11 total blocks.

Offensively, Relja Milosavljevic and George Stevens paced LMU with 14 kills apiece, while Colton Mendez added 10 kills on .400 hitting. Oisin Walsh provided efficient production at the net with nine kills on .800 hitting, and Roman Mahlerwein directed the offense with 50 assists. Defensively, Zachary Zian led the back row with eight digs, and Milosavljevic and Stevens each recorded four blocks.

The opening set went beyond 25 points, with Erskine getting ahead late to take a 29–27 win. LMU answered with a strong response in set two, pulling away early and cruising to a 25–14 win to even the match. Erskine regained momentum in the third, then closed out the contest with another extra-points finish in the fourth, winning 27–25 to secure the 3–1 decision.

The Railsplitters are on the road next for a two-match series at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio, on Friday, Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 24 at 5:00 p.m.
